Hagstrom and heavy-metal band Ghost have teamed up again to create an even better version of the Fantomen - the ultra-tight electric guitar they built several years back. Meet the Fantomen Custom. This upgraded axe features a 3-piece maple neck that not only runs through the double-winged offset mahogany body, but boasts the enhanced stability of an H-Expander truss rod. Naturally, the fretboard has been fashioned from deluxe dark ebony to complete a wood combo that shapes that trusty, warm-and-woody foundation sound full of slightly punchy trebles.

The Fantomen Custom: Lundgren Design AlNiCo Humbuckers

The Slim D-profile neck and 15-inch fretboard radius combine with twenty-two medium jumbo frets, paving the way for fast-paced riffs voiced by two specially-designed humbuckers from Lundgren: an AlNiCo-5 No. 5 at the bridge for fat and flashy leads, and an AlNiCo-2 No. 2 at the neck for the vintage warmth needed to deliver tasteful cleans. What's more, the push/pull tone pots can be engaged to coil-split both double-coiled pickups and gain access to sparkling singlecoil-style sound, while the R/C circuit of the volume controls makes sure that you won't lose out on any clarity or definition when reining in the volume.

Made for heavy-duty work, the Fantomen Custom comes decked out with extra-stable hardware, including a set of GraphTech's Ratio Tuners. With these smart machine heads, every 360-degree turn equals a one-note shift, no matter which string you're tuning or whether you're going up or down in pitch. Add that to the STM Tune-O-Matic-style bridge, stop tailpiece and included strap lock system and there's no need to hold back. Ever.
